The GOP’s fading moments
Paul Jenkins: The Republican Party’s Death Wish.
This is an exceptional article that presents all the facts and makes me happy that we have moved on from the broken ideals of the Republican Party.

Pretty much speaks for itself. A very nice entry into the tome of nerdiness. I am just at a loss that Tetra’s page isn’t there and I can’t stalk her.

Obama Inauguration: History In The Making.
A wonderful Inauguration speech, amazing support from hundreds of thousands, and a fresh start for American Politics. Today has been surreal for a lot of people, myself included. Yes, this is really happening.

John Stauffer: What Obama Can Learn from Lincoln’s Inaugural.
I will post my comment that I posted there:
Wow. I was enthralled with this article.
As I got to the comments section I see right away people saying this is one of the best, if not the best, articles on the HuffPost..
I agree, and it is very profound. There’s something to be said about believing in your most ideal vision of the world and trying your hardest to make it happen while stepping on the fewest toes as possible. That’s the inner clashing of a “team of rivals.”
Ultimately Obama might need to say “thanks for the advice, but I think it’s better to do it the way I thought of in the first place and THEN you can criticize me IF it fails.”
This article, to me, shows that if he tries too hard to keep everyone happy we will have a stale first term, and a good second term. Obama deserves a good first term, and a STELLAR second
I think one paragraph explains it as best as possible:
“The time has come to recalibrate. As Obama transitions to governing mode, so should the press. Admittedly, governing stories aren’t usually as sexy as campaign stories — but the reason we cared so much about the campaign in the first place was to get to the governing.”
